All locator pins will be MMC unless otherwise specified.
All locating pins shall have a chamfered lead in.
Taper on RFS portion of pin shall be between 10-20 degrees. All tampered RFS pins shall locate the part approximately at the mid-point of the taper. If a locating pin must be locked out to load the part, the lockout mechanism must be positive.
Pins shall be made of hardened steel of at least 57 Rockwell C.
When MMC/RFS is required the part load, orientation, etc will determine captive or stab.
Pins shall lock out at below flush, MMC position and released for RFS.
Lock out mechanisms shall be side-mounted detect unless otherwise specified.
